ComparisonsAI ("we", "our", or "us") operates https://comparisonsai.com and the ComparisonsAI browser extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using our service you agree to the practices described here.

• To create and manage your account.
• To provide the comparison and AI features of the service.
• To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
• To process subscription payments and send billing-related emails via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails — welcome, password reset, subscription confirmations — via Resend. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
• To maintain the security and performance of our platform.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train AI models. Your comparison content is used only to generate responses during your active session.

We use the following trusted third parties to operate the service:

When you use an AI feature, your query and the product data you are comparing are sent to Google Gemini to generate a response. This data is subject to Google's API usage policies. We do not share your name, email, or account information with Google in this context.

We use a single essential session cookie (a signed, encrypted JWT) to keep you signed in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Unsaved comparisons are stored in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits without requiring an account. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly save a comparison.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts.

• Account data — retained for as long as your account is active.
• Saved comparisons — retained until you delete them or close your account.
• Usage logs — retained for 90 days for rate-limiting purposes, then automatically deleted.
• Password reset tokens — expire after 1 hour and are deleted immediately upon use.
• Stripe data — Stripe retains payment and billing records in accordance with their own retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

Depending on your location (including the UK and EEA under UK GDPR / GDPR), you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Portability — receive your comparison data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to certain types of processing.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: HTTPS everywhere, bcrypt password hashing, signed and encrypted session tokens, and environment-variable-managed secrets. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly by emailing hello@comparisonsai.com.

ComparisonsAI is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will notify users by email where possible.
